Cork comes from the bark of a tree called the cork oak, which is found mainly in Portugal.
Cork is a sustainable, biodegradable and recyclable material that does not require the cutting of trees: the felling of these trees is totally prohibited in Portugal and only the bark is used, which is renewed naturally and which is removed every 9 year olds.
This specificity makes cork a unique, ecological and 100% vegetable material.
Its exploitation is beneficial for the environment, both for the preservation of biodiversity and for the absorption of CO2.
